In your journey as an entrepreneur, you’ve probably been told that you need to read books to develop yourself more times than you can count. Of course, books are incredibly important. They provide foundational knowledge for you and even help you develop yourself as an expert. However, one thing that people don’t always tell you is that you can also gain knowledge (and entertainment) from business movies.
That’s why we’ve decided to compile the best business movies that you must watch if you’re an entrepreneur. Let’s go through them together, shall we?
1. Henry Ford
Henry Ford was one of the most influential entrepreneurs in the United States of America. This iconic man helped to usher in Ford, which happens to be the country’s first modern vehicle. The documentary is incredibly inspirational. However, beyond that, it helps you to see the challenges that Henry Ford had to face in his journey. We’re sure you might be able to relate to some of them.
2. The Rockefellers
This movie is about the name that is touted as the first billionaire in the world. John Rockefeller was widely criticized for a number of reasons. However, this movie examines his life, his ability to run over obstacles and monopolize the oil industry to acquire his success.
3. Silicon Valley
As an entrepreneur, the chances that you’ve not heard of the phrase, Silicon Valley are very slim. However, whether you’ve heard about it or not, this movie is an excellent one for you to watch. It follows the story of eight gentlemen from Northern California who risked everything to follow one idea. They left their careers to create a start-up and created what we now know as Silicon Valley. If you’re a sucker for perseverance, this is for you.
4. Becoming Warren Buffet
Warren Buffet is a world-famous billionaire with more than $80b to his name. This movie documents his works and his life in general. While this might seem exciting to the average entrepreneur who wants to learn how Warren Buffet got to where he is today, there’s more. The movie highlights Warren Buffet’s inability to connect emotionally, a trait that left him awkward around people during social gatherings.
5. Boiler Room
Unlike many of the other movies on this list, this business movie is largely fictional. It follows the life of a young stock investor who learnt how to inflate the market artificially. It might not exactly teach you the ways of the biggest names like the others we’ve mentioned on this list. However, it is still pretty entertaining to watch.
